Is email broken?

Cory Doctorow, European Affairs Coordinator for the Electronic Frontier Foundation, doesn't think so. In his presentation "All Complex Ecosystems Have Parasites" he paints email as a rich, complex system that mirrors the benefits and perils of a healthy biological system. He points out the dangers in recent proposals to "fix" email. He warns that they won't fix anything. In fact, they would shatter email, and destroy something very useful and very suitable to many purposes.
